SUSTAINABILITY

Ilapothecary products are 100% Natural (a couple of which are 98-99% Natural). Few contain no propylene glycol or ethanolamines, silicone, SLES, petrochemicals, mineral oils, artificial colours or perfumes, PEGS or parabens. Ilapothecary products are free from any synthetic chemicals and only use natural preservatives. All ilapothecary products are vegetarian and gluten free. Majority of products are vegan containing no animal derivatives – except a few products that contain beeswax, silk and honey. All products use best-press or first-press of essential oils.

No ilapothecary products have external packaging nor boxes or leaflets, to reduce waste. The Environmental Protection Agency has found that consumer packaging materials make up more than 30% of landfill waste, which negatively affects the planet and many ecosystems. Ilapothecary would never want to be part of this! We are proud to not be using any outer packaging.

Our production unit building has an Energy Efficiency Rating of A and ensure that all waste is shredded and used to pack our orders. On top of this, they use FSC board for the transit packaging and 80% of the time use bio-degradeable tape to reduce carbon footprint.

Ilapothecary not only invests to offer 98-100% natural powerful remedial ingredients in all formulations, but through its packaging, ensures to preserve their quality for longer, whilst reducing its carbon footprint by recycling manufacturing waste. Our packaging materials are 100% sustainable. The majority of ilapothecary products use Miron glass packaging which is 100% reusable and recyclable, moreover Miron glass also protects the natural ingredients which means products can sit longer on shelves and still feel like. Some ilapothecary products may use plastic packaging – the plastic used in newly made PET and again 100% recyclable. All our tubes are made of PIR (Post Industrial Recycled Plastic) based upon a circular economy to guarantee a real sustainable truth. Environmentally friendly, ilapothecary's PIR tubes offer the most advanced recycling solution with the highest layers extrusion to guarantee the utmost usage of recycled materials and offer a high level of quality.
