Body Care Routine For Glowing Skin

Body Care Routine For Glowing Skin

It is not only the eyes that provide the window to our souls. Our skin is also a mirror that gives insight into our inner being. The skin is the largest organ and a barrier that provides protection from toxins, microbes and water from entering our body. But with increased pollution in our world plus harsh UV rays, our skin needs lots of and love and TCL to keep it functioning at its optimum. This is why we recommend you develop a body care routine that will keep your skin lustrous and youthful.

Here are a few daily rituals to include in your body care routine to maintain firm, elastic, and hydrated skin.

#1 Coming Clean

Exfoliating your skin on a regular basis is one of the most essential steps in any natural body care routine.

Through exfoliating our skin, we are preparing it to be able to absorb more nutrients found in good quality oils, serums and creams that in turn results in glowing skin texture.

Use a body scrub or exfoliation 1-3 times a week, applying upward strokes that will firm and tone skin. ilapothecary offers two organic body products that exfoliate the skin.

The first is Face-the-Day Exfoliating Body Wash that you can use daily in the shower – ideal when you are limited for time.

This product contains Perlite mineral extracted from volcanic rock to lightly exfoliate the skin.

A stronger alternative is the Quiet Start Body Scrub made from Himalayan salts that will remove any dead skin and toxins from the skin.

This product nourishes the skin, while the sensual scents of Jasmine and Ylang Ylang soothe and calm the mind.

#2 DIY Massage

There’s nothing like a morning massage to maintain glowing skin texture.

According to Ayurveda, it is recommended to anoint our body every morning with warm oil to keep the skin looking young and glowing.

The upward strokes of massage help to tone and strengthen the skin tissue, that results in a nicely toned appearance.

Another benefit of regular massage is that it improves blood circulation that helps nutrients reach the vital organs of the body – all of which promote healthier looking skin.

We recommend you include our Feminine Happy Oil into your natural body care routine.

This beautifully scented blend is rich in oils of Argan, Sweet Almond, Jasmine, Rose and Sandalwood combined with the superfood Maca herb.

It can be used directly on your skin or you may want to add a few drops to your bath – both of which give your skin all-over nourishment.

Wellness Tip: Spend more time vigorously massaging the cellulite areas of your body!

#3 Healthy Fats – In and Out

Just as it’s important to include healthy oils and fats in our diet (smashed avocado anyone?), so too is it essential to apply healthy oils to our skin.

Eating healthy fats feeds the fat layer of our skin known as the hypodermis, and the healthier our hypodermis, then the skin appears more plumped and firm.

Look for products that contain oils of Argan, Coconut, Avocado and Sesame oils to include in your body care routine.

Just some of ilapothecary’s range that are made with healthy oils include the Shea Butrer infused Calm Butterfly’s Soothing Balm and Argan-oil infused Feminine Happy Oil and SOS Body Balm.

Wellness Tip: It goes without saying that hydration is key and we recommend you explore ways to boost your hydration levels inside and out – such as installing a shower filter in your bathroom to filter out toxins plus drinking warm lemon water first thing in the morning.

#4 Skin Boosters

In the same way we take spirulina and Vitamin C to give us extra nourishment, we need good quality natural body serums, oils and creams to give us that extra glow.

Our SOS Body Balm is the ideal choice for a pure body care product. Created from Argan oil, Shea Butter, Arnica and Calendula, this gem is also rich in oils of Blue Chamomile, Rose Damask, Sandalwood and Lavender.

It is an anti-inflammatory and healing concoction designed to provide extra care whenever your skin is feeling unusually dry or flaky.

Wellness Tip: Food that will help your skin glow include flaxseeds, avocados, tomatoes, pomegranate, almonds and walnuts to name a few.
